The Price of Apple MacBook Pros Around the World

Brazil is one of my favorite countries. Cool people, great music, heavenly beaches, and caipirinhas. But if you have to buy a Mac, you are screwed. And like this graphic shows, it’s the same in other places in the world.
Brazil wins, however: The price of one MacBook Pro 17″ there buys you two identical models in the US. It’s the same with other Apple products, so if you can’t live without your Apple fix, you better move to another country.

Stuart Hughes aficionados take note. The luxury bedazzler is now back with an entry-level alternative to its $3.2 million iPhone 3GS Supreme. Of course, the new Nokia Supreme will still set you back a suitably ridiculous £99,995 (or $160k), which will get you a Nokia 8800 encrusted with 12.5 cts of pink diamonds, some handmade veneers made from 83 grams of platinum, a navigation button topped off with a single 3 ct diamond, and the usual granite box to store it in. Only three have been made, but it looks like today’s your lucky day — it’s still in stock.
HD Webcam

In Store Solutions might have been the first to announce the first Skype HD webcam, but it looks like FaceVsion (yes, it’s really spelled that way) isn’t about to let it get off that easy, with it now introducing its own first Skype HD-ready TouchCam N1 webcam. As with In Store Solutions’ cams, this one packs an embedded H.264 video compression chip to help out with 720p video streaming, and it includes dual unidirectional mics to ensure that the video isn’t let down by sub par audio. Look for this one to be available sometime next month for $99 — or just $69 if you want one without a mic.
